5-0 out of 5 stars Great introduction to Financials
Though the Financials OCP exam is being retired, the Financials package itself remains unchanged. This book is still the best introduction to how to use Oracle Financials.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very helpful detailed informtion
The book was lacking specific information on how to deal with real estate investment

1-0 out of 5 stars Not the Greatest By Far
Simply put, a difficult book to find the information that you need to set-up and run your business. I was expecting a "How To" guide instead I am trying to find information as simple as "Setting Up QuickBooks" or something similar.
5-0 out of 5 stars All the details needed for expertise
As an accountant, I've looked at all the books I could recommend to clients, because it's better for me when users understand what they are doing, and how to do it right. I found the other books much more shallow, and therefore less useful. This is the only book that has the depth and details that can turn anyone into a competent Quickbooks user. The information about what to do, when to do it, how to do it, and when to do something different is amazingly complete. The writing is easy to follow, and all explanations are wonderfully clear. The other books I examined tell users to make selections, without explaining what they're doing, and without explaining the other choices they have. That's how users make bad choices. This book not only teaches you how to become expert in Quickbooks, you also learn a lot of bookkeeping and accounting. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars get your highlighter, you can find something of value
Mr. Schafer writes about several different option strategies.More importantly, he covers several tools you can use ranging from magazine covers to VIX.He also touches on the "Greeks" and money management. The first 130 pages covers the tools and basics of options and the second half of the book covers specific option strategies and more details on how to spot a trade.
1-0 out of 5 stars Worst Newsletter Service
The service is a sure way to loose money. I consider myself as a novice investor but I can do better on my own than following his advise. Talking to service rep is waste of your time and effort. The service rep will listen to you but do nothing.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Technical Analysis
Only 50% of the book is about options. The other 50% concentrates on how to use technical analysis to find winning stocks. It is probably the best book for the beginner and intermediate trader. With the Technical analysis, it can be used for both stocks and options. It belongs on every trader's shelf. The reason it didn't get a "5 Star" is that he really doesn't go into closing a position if the trade is going the wrong way. I pretty much had to learn that on my own. I have read it cover-to-cover 3 times and certain chapters at least 6 times. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Very poorly organized and written book
This is one of the worst books I've ever read. The headings and subheadings are often very confusing; what should be5-0 out of 5 stars Modern, not Legacy AIS
It is a rare distinction to have written an Accounting textbook that works this well outside of the classroom. I have been reading this to update my knowledge in this area and with a possible eye to writing system documentation or perhaps designing a system of my own.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars totally worthless
It always amazes me how some people have the ability to write a whole book with nothing to say. If you can make money using the techniques in this book please email me, as far as I'm concerned this book is only meant to promote their services. The second half of the book is surely meant to impress, not to teach. I hate these selling techniques: they even make us pay for their promotional material.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pragmatic advise to those who can listen.
If one were to follow the advise in this book, they would be successful. The author leaves nothing to chance and is trying to teach the reader that he too must leave nothing to the whim of the market. The premise on which this excellent book is founded is to react to the market and not forecast it.As Jea Yu points out, it is harder to do than you might expect. The battleground is really the "baggage" that we all bring to the table - our ego's, our budget and most of all our bad judgment. This is a great book and teaches a winning style, if the trader has the discipline to follow it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding. Read it again and again.
A novice should probably read that fluffy Toni Turner book to get an idea of the lingo, but no one should contemplate day trading without reading Lu. This book is a detailed description of the intricacies of no-nonsense, hardcore daytrading, written by a consistently successful practitioner. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars A waste of time
I found this book really wordy and boring, it put me to sleep. The whole idea of learning AIS from a textbook is just like trying to learn to use computer without a computer! The whole AIS operation circle isn't hard to comprehend, but learning it from hundred of pages of literature is a dumb idea. On top of that, I don't think I have to learn the definition of E-Business and its difference from Internet(is there a e-business operated without internet?!).

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I work as an accountant and was looking for a book to brush up on AIS.I don't have any other books, except my university text, to compare this to but this book has done an excellent job bringing me up to speed on the current AIS function. This field is rapidly changing and its important for practioners to keep on top of this area of study.I was not disappointed. In my opinion, this book can make this everchanging field very comprehensible to practioners at any level.

5-0 out of 5 stars 21st Century Accounting Information Systems
Unlike many of the other AIS textbooks still being sold, this textbook was well written to begin with and was seriously edited and re-written where necessary to improve its teaching quality in this 5th Edition.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good primer but not very useful for traders
This text contains a lot of information on online trading in general and trading of options in particular. But be careful, you need to know more than that to succeed in this business. Although this book will tell you how to go about placing your orders and which option strategy is good for which situation, making money comes down to predicting the behavior of your stock price and volatility, something you will have to learn elsewhere. Incidentally the book was most likely written to increase subscriber base of the author's website, so don't let your guard down.

2-0 out of 5 stars Time value of that book is zero
First 8 chapters give you a very superficial introduction to the options trading and some strategies. Let me repeat - very superficial. If you want to learn that matter, you definetely need another book.2-0 out of 5 stars Decent Introduction to the Options Arena
I won't pretend to be an expert option trader.I'm in my third year of seeking a bachelor's, and the degree will not be very finance or investing related. This is the first book I read about options, and it successfully heightened my interest by introducing me to some basic option strategies.Another success of the book is the advice it gives on how to initiate and monitor trades throughout the trading day.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth a dime.
This book was a complete waste of money in that it was a disapointment to the Quickbooks series which is generally reliable.I only paid $1.95 for it and it followed the old adage that you get what you pay for. This was true in this case. After reading it a few times, I placed it in my bookcase and have not touched it since.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, entertaining resource
I teach Bookkeeping with Quickbooks. This is one of my reference books.I love it because it speaks simply and effectively in language that is used by everyday human beings not "Geek Squad" or "CPA" lingo.I haven't found any information in the book to be inaccurate or difficult to understand. Also, unlike the Intuit published Quickbooks 2003 User's Guide, each chapter covers a specific area, so that if you want to know about Banking or Creating Lists (for two examples), you don't have to flip back and forth through different sections of the book.I look forward to getting the 2004 version of this book.I may, or may not, get the User's Guide to 2004.

1-0 out of 5 stars Useless
Almost half of this book has nothing to do with using Quickbooks, and the half that talks about Quickbooks instructions is shallow and almost useless. Every time something confused me when I tried to decide how to use the Quickbooks features, I looked it up in this book. Half the time there was no information, and the rest of the time the information was less helpful than the instructions that appeared on the Quickbooks screen. I ended up calling my accountant so often, he told me buy a book. When I told him I'd already bought this book, he told me to buy the other bestselling book on Quickbooks , which is the one he used. He was right. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars He really trades
Most of the books on trading are written by unsuccessful traders or technicians who are frustrated traders, Larry Williams is one of the few great traders, who keeps trading and making money which shares his methods, strategies and thoughts in a book in a comprehensible way. Larry Williams is among the best and newbies and wannabes like me have to listen to him.

1-0 out of 5 stars Shame
I do not know why he decided to recycle his "Long Term Secrets to Short Term Trading" book. He is selling the same old stuff in a new book with a different name. Even the examples and the explanations of his setups are word to word the same. Nothing new at all. No need to buy the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Updated Long-Term Secrets...
Mr. Williams specializes in the S&P 500. You won't find a better or more proven trader than Mr. Williams. He is very generous with his techniques and trading methods, complete with well researched studies of successful trades. His ideas can also be applied to other trading vehicles. You can't lose reading any and all of Mr. William's books. Well worth the purchase price, as you are capturing over 35 years of successful and documented trading experience. This is the updated version of "Long-Term Secrets To Short-Term Trading", with some new material added.

3-0 out of 5 stars A good overview...
This book is obviously a bit outdated but since finding good books giving you an overview of SAP is so hard, it may still be worth having a look at this one.
5-0 out of 5 stars excellent overview of what to expect and how to prepare
The authors provide an excellent overview of what to expect when embarking upon the implementation of an enterprise resource planning system like SAP.They provide thoughtful insight on factors that should influence thedecision to proceed with such a project as well as sufficient detail on theparticulars of SAP.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book with rare insight
The chapter on level 2 alone is worth the price of the book. Yes the markets have changed and will continue to change, but you can always apply the general principles. Example: accumulation is accumulation regardless of what the market conditions are. Chris points out how to spot accumulation on level 2 and T&S, and if you grasp the idea, you should be able to spot them in any market with the tools available.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very useful, if somewhat out of date...
There is much useful material, along with a thoughtful approach to creating a daytrading discipline, in this book.I don't fully agree with (and wouldn't expect to) all of Lewis' statements, and, as you might expect, given the changes in the trading environment over the last couple of years, many of his methods and observations are arguably already out of date, but others still apply, and his overall philosophy, perspective, and attitude are probably more important, in my opinion, than the particulars of his personal approach as practiced in and around late 2000.The text includes numerous clear, concrete, and detailed examples, though you may have to look past an L2 screen with a stack of QCOM buyers at 343 13/16 (I just never get over mania-market prices) to receive the message.

2-0 out of 5 stars Best for total beginners
This book is geared for people that are brand new to Quicken entirely, not just Quicken 2007.If you have EVER used Quicken at any point in your entire life, you will find this book too elementary.I was hoping to learn some hints and tricks that I didn't already know, and perhaps how to take advantage of the improvements that Quicken 2007 offers over Quicken 2005.I didn't find that in this book.
1-0 out of 5 stars Mutual Funds
although quicken will do quite a bit at allowing you to evaluate and review your mutual funds from several brokers at one time, mr nelson says you do not need to do this as you can get the info from the brokers directly.the quicken help screens are very frustrating.fiddle with the menus a while and you can get pretty good info on your funds. ... I think that it was a great deal of help. The "Dummies" series of books on all subjects makes it easier to understand than the books that come with the product as they tend to put things in a language that is more understandable. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Do you have all of the tools you need to build enterprise-class applications? If you don't, then this book is for you! Authors Jim Farley, William Crawford, Prakash Malani, Justin Gehtland and John G Norman, have done an outstanding job of writing the third edition of a book that provides a pragmatic introduction to the latest release of Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE).
5-0 out of 5 stars Java developers will want this as an essential desk reference
Jim Farley and William Crawford's Java Enterprise In A Nutshell: A Practical Guide packs in tutorials on a number of enterprise Java tools, offering new material covering Xdoclet and Java 5.0 Annotations, JavaServer Faces, and the Hibernate API. Also included are open source testing and build tools, tips on writing SOAP-based web services, J2EE security issues and operations, and much more. Serious Java developers will want this as an essential desk reference.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great reference for an immense topic
Java Enterprise in a Nutshell tries to do the impossible - fit Enterprise Java into a nutshell.I don't think it matters how big of a nutshell you have, it would be a truly impossible task.Farley and Crawford, though, do a nice job shoe-horning as much Enterprise Java as they can into an 800+ page book. They go over many topics including all the J2EE standards like EJBs and JSPs to open source tools like JUnit, Cactus, and Hibernate. The book goes into enough detail to get more than just the gist of the subjects, but not so much detail to overwhelm someone looking for information on a particular topic. The book also has relevant code sections for the various topics outlining how that technology might be used.Overall, a compact, clear, well written reference. ...
